What a an amazing event. We introduced over 100,000 viewers from around the world to the sport of Roller Derby. The bouts were intense. In the middle of it all, my wife went into labor (week early) and I had to rely on the crew to finish the weekend!
I’ve been asked for DVD’s and would be happy to oblige. Below you will find an order form. The small charge is to pay for duplication and shipping.
We would like to continue raising the quality level of derby bout footage. Please let me know your thoughts and how to fund our efforts. By providing engaging video, we are helping grow the fan base. The next step for many online viewers will be a ticket purchase at a local bout.
Portland’s Rose City Rollers started the 2010 Season playing four 30 minute bouts before a sold out audience at the Portland Expo Center. Blaze Streaming Media provided a live Internet video stream to the global derby audience.
God Night was a fund raising event for Inner Anvil Ministries. Musicians from all over the country flew in to support Kevin. Each musician had thousands of facebook fans and a local community left at home. We sought to bring these people together via a virtual concert experience.
Kevin Brusset came to us in search of a way to increase the audience for his God Night concert. Working together, Joe and I decided that the event needed a micro-website with live event video and a facebook widget for chat. This would allow for remote viewers to interact and receive the live video stream without advertisements. The website would feature a call to action “donate now” button.
Production Details
We set up three cameras, collaborated with Dan and Cliff to provide sound into the project, and worked with the crew to set up a workable stage at the Bridge City Church. It was a lot of work and could certainly not have been done without the help of a bunch of amazing people. Dave, Loren, and David Jester pitched in and did a fantastic job running the cameras! Savannah was invaluable as an assistant to the director, making sure everyone was on the same page. Kevin and the rest of the crew took over, setting things up and tearing down afterward. Dan and Cliff ran the sound board which was a huge help!
The show itself was fantastic! Kevin Brusett, Genesis Praise, and Michael O’Brien were amazing, and they put on a great show.
After that evening, I spent a couple of days editing the footage and putting together videos of the individual performances. We posted these videos on the Facebook Event page for God night and even sent them along to a few of the performers.
We raised money for a great cause, shared amazing music, and brought a nationwide community together! Looking forward to the next God night.
